Prince William delivered a poignant reading from the diary of Captain Alastair Bannerman, in which the soldier remembered his family as he headed towards the French coast on the morning of D-Day.

Resident David Bannerman, who went to the scene with his sister Debbie Tiffen, described the aftermath.He told BBC Scotland News: "We heard the crash, looked out the window and seen the barriers had been hit so went down to see what we could do to help."The people on the bus were all a bit dazed and confused so we just tried to calm them down.

Mr Bannerman, 40, said they were shocked to see the bus had "gone into the flats"."We couldn't get the people off the bus because the doors were buckled but we made sure they were all sitting down until the emergency services got here," he added.

Starring Top Boy's Kane "Kano" Robinson and 14-year-old newcomer Jedaiah Bannerman, it speaks to the heart of a changing landscape and how, although oppressed, people can still experience joy and togetherness.

At one point in the film, Bannerman's character Benji walks through the Kitchen's streets for the first time.
