John Booth, from Kendal, Cumbria, kept the can of Newcastle Brown Ale in the fridge since 1996 when it was given to him at a barbeque by a Liverpool supporter.

He was arrested in June, along with more than 70 others, for hosting an "unlawful meeting" at his private residence when he held a barbeque to mark the International Day of the African Child.

"I'd burnt the old one, literally on a barbeque," he privately admitted.

The McRib consists of a restructured boneless pork patty molded to resemble a miniature rack of ribs along with barbeque sauce, onions and pickles.

He later attended a community picnic in Parramatta, where the suit-clad monarch had a go at cooking sausages on a barbeque before meeting a sheepdog.
