Cash Money mogul Birdman, Wayne’s labelmate Nicki Minaj and rappers Juvenile, Cam’ron and Master P all came to his defense since the apparent snub.

For a House rep who has never run a competitive race, that’s unthinkable cash—money that is underwriting his current Senate campaign.

Among those first to greet B.G. — real name Christopher Dorsey — was rapper and hip-hop mogul Birdman, who recruited him and Lil Wayne as tween protégés at his Cash Money Records in the early 1990s.

Though most of the group stayed attached to Birdman and Cash Money, some artists, most famously Lil Wayne, later had a falling out with Birdman, leading to a $51-million lawsuit in 2015.

He said his family didn’t have much cash money, but he, his siblings and older half-siblings would spend hours in the woods of their backyard, playing and fantasizing and dreaming.
