In updating the maps, San Francisco also saw “significant increases in the mapped tsunami hazard” in the Financial District at the foot of Market Street, as well as parts of North Beach, south of the Embarcadero.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, vulnerable areas include the westernmost areas in San Francisco’s Richmond and Sunset districts, as well as the Marina District, and areas along the Embarcadero, affecting a significant portion of the Financial District and South-of-Market areas.
