No one was really sure why Biden would skip eulogizing former President Jimmy Carter, who was lying in state at the Capitol.

Biden, who will eulogize Carter at Washington National Cathedral on Thursday just 11 days before he exits the presidential stage, can take some solace in the record of revisionism.

Thousands of mourners turned out Tuesday for Goldberg-Polin’s funeral in Jerusalem, where he was eulogized by speaker after speaker, including the country’s president, Isaac Herzog, who asked for forgiveness on behalf of the Israeli state.

“I eulogized her and I didn’t want to,” the actor-director said Monday.

His remains have since been transferred back to Atlanta where he will be eulogized on Friday.
