“Krapp’s Last Tape” creates a dialogue between an old man and his younger self, through audio diary tapes that reveal what the character was like 30 years earlier — to his everlasting disgust.

She is still in touch with the Wooden family, texting son Jim on his birthday and regularly checking in with — you guessed it — that great-granddaughter whose identical name sparked an everlasting bond.

A makeshift laundry line hung from a vent, and graffiti adorned the walls, including slogans that read “Contentment is an everlasting treasure,” or “Release will come one day,” daubed with blood or feces.

I appreciated the opportunity of re-experiencing the play, though I’m not convinced by this production that “Streetcar” is the everlasting masterwork it is widely assumed to be.

But would our romance become an everlasting love?
