A subsequent review found that although the handler had left the engine running to keep the air conditioning on, an extractor fan in the back of the vehicle had malfunctioned, and there was not enough awareness of how the system worked.

The ombudsman said when the resident first reported the water leak in 2019, the landlord stated it would later replace an extractor fan in the bathroom and make multiple repairs to the kitchen, including installing new worktops and cupboards.

The kitchen is another area where moisture rises, so open the windows or use the extractor fan when cooking.

The eviction came after her family complained about problems with mould and an extractor fan.
