The American art-rock band Gastr del Sol was dining inside.

That summit became the first move in a long path to “We Have Dozens of Titles,” a three-LP boxed set due Friday that includes the first previously unheard music from Gastr del Sol in a quarter-century.

O’Rourke is best known for performing with indie legends Sonic Youth in the 1990s and early 2000s, and before that he was half of the duo Gastr Del Sol, with David Grubbs.

He got his start in the 1980s as a teenager in the Kentucky hardcore band Squirrel Bait, and eventually landed in Chicago where he formed the outstanding experimental duo Gastr del Sol with Jim O’Rourke.
