An "incredibly mysterious" gold Bronze Age penannular ring has been unearthed by a metal detectorist.

A gold Bronze Age pendant, described as one of the most important finds of the last 100 years, has gone on display for the first time.

But the Nebra sky disk is an archaeological wild card, made as much from secrets as it is from gold, bronze and copper.

It’s made from 24-karat gold, bronze and stainless steel.
