It was the rallying cry "mera jism, meri marzi", which translates to my body, my choice, in particular which touched a nerve last year and continues to cause controversy ahead of this year's march.

For the record, a lota is a water vessel used as a bidet in many Asian households; Maggi is a brand of instant noodles and seasonings that remains popular in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh; and “mera jism, mera hathyar!” translates to the battle cry “my body, my weapon!”

She made her Bollywood debut in 2012 in the film Jism 2 but had already become a household name in India after participating in reality TV show Bigg Boss in 2011.
