The Saudi-owned TV network Al Arabiya reported that Israeli planes had attacked positions held by Iranian militias near the town of Kiswah, south of the capital, Damascus.

An earlier report said Syrian air defenses had shot down unspecified targets over Kiswah.

Among the targets that were hit were a logistics headquarters belonging to the Quds Force, a military logistics compound in Kiswah, an Iranian military compound north of Damascus, munition storage warehouses of the Quds Force at Damascus International Airport, intelligence systems and posts associated with the Quds Force, and observation and military posts and munitions in the buffer zone between the Golan Heights and Syria proper, the Israeli army said.

Sana reported that two missiles were shot down in the Kiswah area and that two civilians were killed in an explosion.

Syria's state news agency reported that two missiles were shot down overnight at Kiswah, a military outpost south of Damascus.
