When it filed for the second time, the company said it had $615 million in liabilities and owed $133 million to suppliers.

That has reduced its cash on hand to $1.2 billion, but the plan said it has other liabilities it needs to pay.

Edison is far from that tipping point with a market cap of about $20 billion and potential liabilities estimated at around $10 billion.
