Celestial enthusiasts will be able to see a total lunar eclipse for the first time in three years this week.

The partial lunar eclipse in the UK will be visible - weather permitting - during the early hours of 14 March from 3:57 GMT before peaking at 6:19.

The Americas will have the best chance of viewing this total lunar eclipse as it will take place during their overnight period and will only be visible in dark skies.
