The Biden administration, he noted, went to the Supreme Court to protect access to mifepristone, one of two drugs used to medically end pregnancy.

One open question is whether Trump will direct the Food and Drug Administration to revoke the approval of mifepristone, a common abortion-inducing drug that conservatives tried to get moved off the market.

In the meantime, abortion opponents have set their sights on shutting down access to abortion pills — mifepristone and misoprostol.

While mifepristone was able to retain approval this year, the Supreme Court did leave the door open to future challenges to abortion drugs.
