He has had a long relationship with Lincoln Center Theater, which first produced his Pulitzer-winning play, “Disgraced,” on its Off Off Broadway stage, and also presented his plays “The Who & The What” Off Off Broadway and “Junk” on Broadway.

The initial production was at the Aurora Theater Company; in 2019, there was an Off Off Broadway production presented by Colt Coeur that the New York Times critic Ben Brantley praised, saying it “is not only one of the funniest plays to open this year, it is one of the saddest.”

After a year-and-a-half-long search, a church chapel on the Lower East Side was the only affordable space Domig, the artistic director of the Off Off Broadway company Sea Dog Theater, had been able to find to mount a production of “Tuesdays With Morrie.”

The theater company, which has nurtured multiple Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning shows over the years, until recently operated three theaters: the Hayes Theater on Broadway, an Off Off Broadway space on the Upper West Side and an Off Broadway theater, the Tony Kiser Theater, in a former bank building at the corner of West 43rd Street and Eighth Avenue.

Last year, Second Stage gave up the lease on its Off Off Broadway space.
