A recent review of senior management failings at NHS Forth Valley said it was "of concern" that these problems - and how they were being addressed by the board's chairperson and chief executive - were not reflected in the performance appraisal reports of the individuals.

The agreement required the authority to improve its employee performance appraisal process.

Banking and financial institutions should set annual service targets for private enterprises, increase the weight of related businesses serving private enterprises in performance appraisal and gradually increase the proportion of loans to private enterprises, it said.

The performance appraisal is used to determine whether or not the employee is on the right career path and to make any necessary changes to help in the employee’s future development.

A performance appraisal must be a completely interactive process if it is to achieve all of the goals the company has set out for it.
