Eco Wave Power, an Israel-based company, is set to install the first U.S. onshore wave energy pilot station in the coming months on the port’s Main Channel, next to AltaSea.

The fire was burning closest to St. Mary’s but also presents a threat to nearby Pitkas Point and Pilot Station.

There have been voluntary evacuations by residents, as well as others living in the nearby communities of Mountain Village and Pilot Station.

Fire officials said the priorities remain public and firefighter safety and protecting sites of value along the Andreafsky and East Fork Andreafsky rivers, along with St. Mary’s and the nearby villages of Pilot Station, Pitkas Point and Mountain Village.

Four of the hunters are volunteers with the Pilot Station search and rescue team and contacted Emmonak Search and Rescue with an emergency communication device.
