At launch, each motor had about 1.1 million pounds of polybutadiene acrylonitrile copolymer propellant, which has the consistency of a pencil eraser.

Those boosters — the twin white cylinders on either side of the rocket — are 17 stories high and are packed with a solid rocket fuel called polybutadiene acrylonitrile.

“There are different forms of polybutadiene,” says Frank Simonutti, Wilson’s global director of golf ball innovaton, of the rubber used to make golf ball cores.

Both four-piece designs offer polybutadiene rubber dual cores with an ionomer mantle and urethane cover.

The inside of the two new balls share a similar design idea with the polybutadiene rubber core surrounded by a resin polymer mantle layer.
