Carissa Moore, 28, introduced the world to surfing at the Olympics and she won gold for the U.S. in the women’s shortboard.

Moore won the women’s shortboard event in the sport’s Olympics debut.

During the Olympics, he plans to edit primarily in the sport of rowing, but he recently branched out by writing a page for Ella Williams, a New Zealand surfer who is set to compete in the inaugural shortboard surfing competition at the Tokyo Games.

The eight-day shortboard surfing competition period begins Sunday at Tsurigasaki beach.

The shortboard events will start with four- and five-person heats and the main rounds will have two-person heats with the winners advancing.
