Some of the teenagers at a session in east London said they tried to keep themselves safe by wearing stab vests or multiple layers of clothing, the Mirror newspaper reported.

One man, who did not want to be named, said he saw the teenager being stabbed and went to try and help.

"We have two teenagers in the house so I have to wash maybe at least two or three times a day."
