There is little new to say about the foot washers at the Trump tent show in Milwaukee that hasn’t already been said.

Her stage name was coined after she married Will “Pa” Rainey in 1904; the couple toured with the Rabbit’s Foot Company, a minstrel tent show that traveled the South, before forming their own group, Rainey and Rainey, Assassinators of the Blues.

That’s the message embedded in the Montreal-based circus’ visiting tent show, “Volta,” which is set up in the Dodger Stadium parking lot through March 8, then moves to the OC Fair & Event Center.

Introduced in April 2017, “Volta” is Cirque’s 41st original production and 18th tent show, and it’s superbly crafted.

That is certainly the case with “Ghost Town,” equal parts San Francisco Mime Troupe, Chautauqua Circuit tent show, chamber of commerce symposium and “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.”
