In fact, Canoo’s headquarters in Torrance, California is owned by a shell company set up by Foster Chiang, TPK’s vice chairman, according to property records.

Taiwanese screen maker TPK Holding Co Ltd and financial firm CGL Group dropped out of the process earlier this month.
