Other brands jumping on the bandwagon include Tesco and Sainsbury's for your favourite groceries, Trainline and Uber for your most frequent journeys, Monzo and Lloyds for your spending habits, Xbox and Nintendo for your gaming.

Which? sent mystery shoppers to 15 stations - each run by a different train operator - and checked the price of 75 journeys from a ticket machine against online retailer Trainline.

A journey from Holmes Chapel in Cheshire to London was found to cost £66 at a machine, whereas Trainline offered the same trip for £26.

The Trainline website says it takes an average of three hours and 43 minutes to travel from London Euston to Blackpool by train.

The winner will receive a $5,000 stipend, a two-night stay in a luxury hotel, $2,500 in Trainline vouchers and signed swag from Hasselhoff’s famous TV shows.
