Eight billion light-years from Earth, in the darkness beyond the constellation Vulpecula, a black hole perhaps a billion times as massive as the sun seems to be gorging on a humongous cloud of gas.

Soon after the telescope was completed in 1967, Bell Burnell noticed an unusual squiggle, what she called a piece of “scruff,” that she traced to the constellation Vulpecula.

Estimates of its distance pegged it to a spot in the constellation Vulpecula, about 2,000 light-years away.

S&T has made four detailed charts that show how the asteroid will be moving south to north through the Capricornus, Aquarius, Delphinus, Vulpecula, and Cygnus constellations.

Discovered in 2005, the planet orbits a star about 19 parsecs away in the Vulpecula, or Fox, constellation.
