It is now a sanctuary for over 30 species of butterflies including Chalk-hill Blue, Wall Brown, Dingy Skipper and Grizzled Skipper, continuing to hide the site's secretive past.

“I wanted to slam the receptionist into the wall,” Brown writes.

“This will not be a mission to build a new wall,” Brown wrote at the time in a letter to Trump administration officials.

“Neither these kids nor our Dreamers should be used as a negotiating tool and their status and safety shouldn’t be traded for a border wall,” Brown said in a news release.
