North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it received numerous reports of flooding in the Flintshire and Wrexham areas and warned people to keep away from fast flowing watercourses.

People in the area are advised to avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and to plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers.

This is intended to ensure that the effluent does no damage to the watercourse it flows into.
