This year marks the 7th edition of the competition for wounded military veterans, which will include more than 500 athletes competing in 11 different events, including for the first time winter sports.

Athletic director Rocky Montz was at Wednesday’s game and credited Principal Dr. Pam Magee for “putting the press on” to get winter sports teams playing as soon as possible.

"Only in collaboration with the winter sports and all those organisations out there. We have the Association of National Olympic Committees. We have the summer federations that are represented, and some of that has to be a collaborative approach. But I think we should always be open to new and fresh thinking."

It offers a range of winter sports activities for visitors of all levels.

"You don't tend to see a particularly diverse group of people across winter sports, but bobsleigh is one of those sports that does have quite good inclusion," he said.
