The journey navigating the treatment for his relatively rare myxoid liposarcoma took another turn recently when he had surgery to remove a growth in the top of his mouth.

On March 12, Andrews, a West Forsyth graduate, had a below-the-knee amputation on her right leg to combat a rare type of cancer, a myxoid sarcoma that develops in deep soft tissue.

In 2015, her husband of seven years, Noah Davis — a rising L.A. art star whose work had been acquired recently by L.A.’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Studio Museum in Harlem — died at 32 from a rare form of cancer, myxoid liposarcoma, that had wrapped around his heart.
